EdgeProX offers a variety of different studies which will allow traders to compare different instruments on one chart.
To access EdgeProX's instrument studies, select "Study" from the upper toolbar of EdgeProX and then "Instrument". Please refer to the screenshot below.
An overview of each of EdgeProX's built-in instrument studies is listed below.
Instrument Overlay
The Instrument Overlay allows users to overlay the chart of any instrument on the active chart. The initial settings for configuring the Instrument Overlay are shown below.
1. Instrument - Type or select the symbol of the instrument you would like to overlay
2. Bar Type - Choose the type of bar you would like to display for the overlay (default is a line chart)
3. Line Source -If a line chart is selected, this option allows you to choose the input source for that line (Examples: closing price, opening price, high, low)
4. Shift - The number of bars to shift the study forward. A negative value can be used to shift the study backwards. Unchecking "Lock Shift" will allow for dragging of the overlay forwards or backwards
5. Style - For line charts, choose the color, thickness, and style of the displayed line
6. Show Axis - Displays the axis for the overlaid instrument of the left side of the price plot
7. Inverted - Enabling this will display the overlay upside down
8. Bar Updates - Selecting this will enable live updates for the overlaid study (as opposed to updating on the close of the bar)
9. Show Legend - Displays the overlay in the study legend area
10. Show Label - Displays a label showing the instrument symbol at the end of the overlay
In the screenshot below, the @CL chart is overlaid on top of the @ES chart.
Instrument Graph
This allows users to create a graph of any instrument in the panel above or below the active chart.
1. Instrument - Type or select the symbol of the Instrument you would like to display in the Instrument Graph
2. Bottom/Top - Determine the scale of the Instrument Graph by choosing a price range (if not enabled, the graph will scale automatically based on the current price)
3. Price Bar - Choose the type of bar you would like to display for the overlay (default is a bar chart)
4. Indicator - When "Display" is selected, an indicator showing the current price will be displayed on the price axis to the right of the Instrument Graph
In the screenshot below, MNQZ4 is the active chart while ESZ4 is represented in the Instrument Graph. No custom scale was configured using Top/Bottom, but the Indicator is displayed with a white label.
Instrument Ratio
This study allows the user to represent two different instruments as a ratio.
In the chart below ES:CL is plotted in the indicator panel.
