Investor RT - Rithmic Connectivity using R | Trader Pro

Please find the instructions below when connecting Investor RT into the R|Trader Pro gateway.

  1. Use the new R|Trader Pro plug-in to connect to third-party software. If you have not already downloaded R|Trader Pro you can do so from the following: R|Trader ProDownload Link

    1. This step is required for the new connectivity option.  R|Trader Pro must be running on your computer for this connection to work.  Instructions for RTrader can be found here: Rithmic CME Market Data Subscription Fees

    2. When running R | Trader Pro, you must access the Advanced settings and enable market data and plug-in access. This allows Investor/RT to connect to R Trader Pro gateway. 

    3. For example, if your broker sets up your account with a limit of 1 market data connection and 3 orders connections, this means you can run R | Trader Pro plus 2 instances of Investor/RT simultaneously on the same machine using only 1 market data connection. Collectively there are three orders connections active for execution purposes but only a single market data connection shared by the three running apps.

  2. When running R | Trader Pro, you must access the Advanced settings and enable market data and plug-in access. This allows Investor/RT to connect to R Trader Pro gateway.

  3. Once you have R | Trader Pro running and have enabled market data and plug-ins in the Advanced settings then you can startup Investor/RT. 
  4. Investor/RT must connect to R | Trader Pro™ using the same credentials as used by R | Trader Pro™
    1. Important: Investor/RT must be running on the same machine as the R | Trader Pro™ to which it has connected.  You must also log into R|Trader Pro first and keep this connection running in order for Investor RT to work. 
  5. Once Investor RT is open, we need to open the Rithmic preferences window by going to Data > Setup Rithmic

  6. Select your desired Rithmic system and gateway and check the box to Connect via R T| Trader Pro Gateway.

  7. Click Start Data and Ok.
R | Trader™ is Rithmic’s front end trading and real-time risk management user interface. You can view quotes, trades, market depth and option strikes in real-time. You can place, modify and cancel orders, and view order history, performance, positions and risk limits. R | Trader™ supports trailing stops, brackets, OCOs and group orders. R | Trader Pro™ adds charting features and a real-time interface to and from Microsoft Office Excel and supports single login connectivity for advanced charting/trading via Investor/RT.
